Description

A delectable surf and turf recipe featuring perfectly cooked ribeye steaks paired with succulent shrimp, all generously smothered in a rich and creamy garlic sauce. This dish combines the best of land and sea for a luxurious dining experience that’s both flavorful and satisfying.

Ingredients

Steak and Shrimp

  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Garlic Cream Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Steaks: Start by seasoning the ribeye steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to enhance their flavor and ensure even cooking.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: While the steaks are resting, heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Garlic Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to let it burn. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. Cook the Steaks: Meanwhile, heat another skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the seasoned ribeye steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust timing to your preferred doneness. Once cooked, remove the steaks from the heat and allow them to rest for a few minutes to retain their juices.
  5. Combine Shrimp and Sauce: After the sauce has thickened, add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and stir gently to coat the shrimp evenly with the creamy garlic sauce.
  6. Serve: Slice the rested steaks and plate them alongside the shrimp in creamy garlic sauce. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley to add a burst of color and fresh flavor.

Notes

  • Letting the steaks come to room temperature before cooking helps them cook more evenly.
  • Use shrimp that are peeled and deveined for ease and better texture.
  • Adjust garlic powder and paprika based on your preferred level of spice and flavor intensity.
  • Resting the steak after cooking is important to keep it juicy and tender.
  • This dish pairs beautifully with steamed vegetables or garlic mashed potatoes.
