Description

An incredibly moist and rich chocolate cake with a soft, tender crumb and deep chocolate flavor, perfect for any celebration or indulgent dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water or hot coffee

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease and line a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Slowly add hot water or coffee, stirring until the batter is smooth and slightly thin.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan briefly, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before serving or frosting.
