Description

Delicious and visually appealing yogurt covered strawberries dipped twice in vanilla Greek yogurt with a gradient effect using pink food coloring. These refreshing treats combine the natural sweetness of fresh strawberries with creamy yogurt, making for a light and healthy dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 12 fresh strawberries

Dipping Coating

  • 10 ounces vanilla Greek yogurt
  • Pink food coloring (few drops, as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry with a paper towel to remove all moisture, ensuring the yogurt adheres well when dipped.
  2. Set up the dipping area: Lay a piece of parchment paper on a large plate or cutting board to place the coated strawberries on.
  3. First yogurt dip: Pour the vanilla Greek yogurt into a small bowl. Holding each strawberry by its green leaves, dip it into the yogurt, swirling to coat thoroughly but leaving a small part of the red strawberry visible at the top.
  4. Freeze initial coating: Place each yogurt-covered strawberry on the parchment paper and transfer them to the freezer for 15 to 20 minutes to set the coating.
  5. Create yogurt gradients and second dip: For a gradient color effect, divide the strawberries into three groups of four. Start with plain yogurt (no food coloring) and dip four strawberries. Then add one drop of pink food coloring to the yogurt, stir well, and dip the next four strawberries. Finally, add an additional drop of pink food coloring, mix, and dip the last four strawberries, achieving three different shades of pink.
  6. Final freezing: Place the strawberries back on the parchment paper and freeze for an additional 40 minutes to 1 hour to fully set the yogurt coating.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent yogurt from slipping off.
  • Parchment paper is key to prevent sticking during freezing.
  • Use vanilla Greek yogurt for a creamy texture and subtle sweetness; other yogurt flavors can be used based on preference.
  • The pink food coloring can be adjusted or omitted if preferred for a white yogurt coating.
  • Store the finished yogurt covered strawberries in the freezer and consume within 24 hours for best freshness.
